About the Measles Collaborative
The Measles Collaborative is an initiative of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID). It grew out of the 2026 Measles Summit convened by NFID and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. The Collaborative brings together individual experts and partner organizations to identify priorities, connect related efforts, and develop resources. Its work is scientific, evidence-based, and educational.

How We Work
Workgroups are at the center of the Collaborative. Each has a chair or co-chairs and develops resources in its area of focus.
The Leadership Team sets direction and coordinates priorities across the workgroups. NFID convenes the Collaborative and provides operational and communications support.
Partner organizations contribute expertise and share Collaborative resources through their own channels. Individual experts take part in their own capacity, not as representatives of their employers.
How Collaborative Resources are Reviewed
The Leadership Team reviews the scientific content of each Collaborative resource, and the NFID Medical Director approves it. Resources reflect the expert perspectives of the workgroups and may not represent the formal position of every partner organization.
How Selected Resources are Chosen
Workgroup members and partners suggest existing resources in their areas of expertise. Each is reviewed by the relevant workgroup chair and the NFID Medical Director or Leadership Team before it is listed. We look for resources that are:
- From a credible source, such as a public health agency, professional society, or academic institution
- Consistent with current scientific evidence and professional guidance
- Practical and clear for the people they are meant for
- Free of promotion of specific commercial products or brands
Listed resources are reviewed at least once a year and removed or replaced when they are outdated. Listing a resource does not mean the Collaborative or its partner organizations endorse it. To suggest a resource or report one that is out of date, contact MeaslesCollaborative@nfid.org.
Independence
Participants disclose relevant financial relationships and step back from decisions where they have a conflict. Representatives of commercial companies do not serve on the Leadership Team or workgroups. Collaborative resources do not promote specific brands or products.
The Collaborative does not take policy positions, sign on to statements, or lobby. Partner organizations take their own positions, in their own names.
Funding
NFID supports the Collaborative's operations.
Specific projects may be supported by external funders. Funders are acknowledged in the work they support and have no role in setting priorities, selecting participants, or developing or approving content, per NFID’s Funder Engagement Policy.
Organizations interested in supporting the Collaborative's work can contact NFID at MeaslesCollaborative@nfid.org.
